Position Overview: As a Warehouse Material Handler, you will be responsible for performing various tasks to support the efficient operation of the warehouse. You will work to ensure accurate handling and processing of materials and products, adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Sorting: Unload, receive, and sort incoming products. Verify product quantities and check for damage or discrepancies.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring accurate stock levels and proper storage of materials. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Order Fulfillment: Pick, pack, and prepare products for shipment based on customer orders. Ensure orders are accurate and meet quality standards.
- Equipment Operation: Operate warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, safely and efficiently. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Follow OSHA and other regulatory requirements related to warehouse operations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, shipments, and receipts. Use computerized systems to track and manage inventory.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members and supervisors to achieve operational goals. Assist with training new employees and supporting team initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role preferred but not required.
- Skills: Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 75 pounds. Comfort working on your feet for extended periods and in various environmental conditions.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certifications: Forklift certification may be required, or willingness to obtain.
