The AI Domain Architect plays a critical role in shaping PepsiCo’s AI strategy by defining scalable, forward-looking AI architecture across all business functions and global markets.
This role combines deep technical expertise in AI/ML/LLM technologies with enterprise architecture thinking to deliver intelligent solutions that are aligned with PepsiCo’s Responsible AI standards, governance frameworks, and digital transformation goals.
Key Responsibilities:
AI Strategy & Architecture:
Define and evolve the AI north star architecture and technology roadmap.
Establish architecture principles and reusable design patterns for various AI capabilities including ML, DL, Generative AI, and LLMs.
Stakeholder Alignment & Governance:
Lead architectural alignment across D&A teams, data scientists, digital product teams, enterprise architects, and IT.
Govern AI product solution architectures to minimize tech debt, promote reuse, and accelerate delivery.
Technology Leadership:
Lead vendor evaluations and proof-of-concepts (POCs) for new AI tools and platforms.
Stay ahead of AI industry trends through research and collaboration with partners like OpenAI, Azure, and Google.
AI Enablement & Compliance:
Drive Responsible AI practices, including bias mitigation, explainability, and regulatory compliance.
Coach solution architects and engineering teams on implementing AI capabilities using MLOps, LLMOps, and engineering best practices.
Collaboration & Delivery:
Partner with cross-functional teams to design and deploy scalable, production-grade AI solutions.
Oversee architecture reviews and ensure alignment across data engineering, platform, and product teams.
Community Leadership:
Lead the AI Architecture Community of Practice.
Promote knowledge sharing, architectural consistency, and reusable solutions across global teams.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
AI/ML certifications (e.g., Google Professional ML Engineer, Microsoft AI Engineer, OpenAI Developer) are a plus.
Experience:
8+ years of experience in AI/ML solution architecture or engineering roles in complex enterprise environments.
Proven experience architecting large-scale AI systems including LLM-based and generative AI applications.
Hands-on experience with AI platforms and frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face).
Familiarity with MLOps, LLMOps, Responsible AI practices, and AI regulatory requirements.
Technical Skills:
Expertise in foundational models, vector databases, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.
Strong grasp of data engineering principles, data architecture, and cloud-native AI solutions (Azure, GCP, AWS).
Ability to think across conceptual, logical, and physical layers of architecture.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and executive presentation skills.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn complex technology into strategic insights.
Demonstrated leadership in influencing technical and business stakeholders at all levels.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $125,900 – $249,900 (commensurate with experience and location)
Bonus: 25% annual performance-based target
Long-Term Incentive (LTI): Up to 10% equity payout over 3 years based on performance
